About Us

A More Intentional Approach to Custom Home Building

At Takumi Custom Homes, we believe a quality home begins with thoughtful planning, careful craftsmanship, and attention to every detail.

OUR STORY

Built on Experience. Driven by Craftsmanship.

Takumi Custom Homes grew from a lifelong connection to home building and a passion for doing things the right way.

My interest in building began early, helping my father build our family home in Texas. That experience introduced me to the satisfaction of creating something from the ground up and sparked an interest in the home-building process that stayed with me.

In 1998, I moved to Houston and began working with a local custom home builder, where I gained hands-on experience in the day-to-day process of building homes and developed a deeper understanding of what it takes to bring a home from an idea to completion.

Over more than 25 years in residential construction and home building, that experience
has shaped the way I approach every project today.

I have always been meticulous by nature. I believe in thoughtful planning, staying organized, communicating clearly, and taking pride in the details that define quality. Those principles are at the heart of Takumi Custom Homes.

Takumi was created to bring that level of care, craftsmanship, and precision to every home
we build.

Why Takumi

A Name That Reflects How We Build

The name Takumi represents craftsmanship, skill, and the pursuit of mastering one’s craft.

It reflects the way I approach building—clean, organized, intentional, and precise. Every detail matters, and every part of the process deserves careful attention.

Takumi Custom Homes was created to bring that mindset to every home we build, combining experience, craftsmanship, organization, and attention to detail to create homes that are built with purpose and designed to last.

Built with purpose. Crafted with precision.

Meet the Builder

Billy Johnson

Principal Builder

With more than 25 years of experience in residential construction and custom home building, Billy Johnson brings a hands-on and meticulous approach to every project.

Clients have consistently valued his communication, transparency, organization, and attention to detail—qualities that remain central to the Takumi Custom Homes experience.

Billy believes a successful building experience starts with communication and continues with accountability. Clients should understand what is happening throughout their project, know where things stand, and feel confident that the details are being handled with care.

For Billy, the measure of a successful home isn’t simply how it looks when construction is complete. It’s the quality of the work behind it—and most importantly, the smile on the homeowner’s face when they see the finished home.
